Track 11:West Coast Park, NUS, Haw Par Villa, JP

September 9, 2007

Well. This post is going to be like a movie.

The 11th post of this category.

The number 11. My favourite number.

Because Giggs wears that number on his jersey.

And the most important reason which I decline to disclose. You may think that the reason is stupid if I say it.

But where got so coincidental? It’s fated for me to like this number 11.

That’s the way I am. Childish at times.

This post can make you laugh and cry. Maybe not the the extent of crying, but I’m sure you’ll feel something later.

For the laughing part. Ya lah. I’m coming to that.

In short, I hor lan-ed.

And nope. You didn’t see it wrongly.

It is really Haw Par Villa that you see as the title.

I will come to that.

For those suah koos who have totally no idea what the heck Haw Par Villa is, that’s 虎豹别墅 for you.

Yup. That place with the 18 levels of hell, Sun Wukong and all that.

Come to think of it, I haven’t been there for years.

Anyway, I promised myself yesterday I’ll go back to West Coast Park.

And there I was today, feeling very shagged and thirsty under the scotching hot sun.

Despite not having lunch, I wasn’t really hungry.

Ya lah. Mr Woo must be thinking again Huixian in Best Bud Seow’s stomach theory again.

His theory is getting worse. Now he claims that my stomach has a mind of its own.

I must send him to Woodbridge someday.

Anyway it is totally wrong to cycle long distances under the hot sun with just one 500ml bottle of Oolong tea.

I should have worn sleeveless t-shirt. Now, jit su ku of my arm is not tanned and sah su ku of my arm is super tanned.

After cycling one round of West Coast Park, I proceeded to NUS.

I realised that it is quite near.

And it is not different from NTU. Full of slopes around. I gave up pedalling and pushed my bike up.

You must understand that it is difficult for a guy who cycled from Jurong East to West Coast Park to continue to cycle up those slopes.

Even though my intention was to go explore NUS before going to NTU for those slopes.

I saw Zi Cheng’s future place of study. Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

I saw Suxian’s current place of study. The NUS Business School. Just beside Zi Cheng’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

I was thinking of trying to find out where’s Why Chen’s faculty.

Passed by some hostels on the way. I’m not sure, but I think they are hostels.

Look like condominium sia. Really very nice.

Even better than NTU’s hostels.

I followed the route. I didn’t manage to find out where Why Chen’s faculty is.

I lost my way.

I explored only 2 buildings and I lost my way.

And found myself at Haw Par Villa.

Those studying at NUS, please enlighten me.

Next time, if I happen to crash NUS, please show me around.

It is demoralising to lose my way.

It is even more demoralising when my intention was to explore NUS and I find myself at Haw Par Villa.

That was how I got to Haw Par Villa.

You know, the distance is really very far from NUS.

Ta ma de

I lose my way until very jia lat.

That was when I was super shagged and gave up the idea of going to NTU.

I even passed by the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre in the process of coming back.

I am not giving up.

I still want to explore NUS. Perhaps a few weeks later.

But definitely, it is much more complicated than NTU.

Because there are a lot of small roads. NTU only got those few roads.

Stop laughing at the fact of me losing my way until I find myself at Haw Par Villa. I merely just followed the road.

Come to think of it, I was stunned when I saw West Coast Highway again.

When I turned right, I was hoping to see NUS.

But I saw Haw Par Villa instead.

Ta ma de

I was feeling damn sian at that point of time.

I took 30 minutes to cheong from West Coast Highway to Jurong Point.

Apparently, when I reached Jurong Point, I saw 2 chio bu YES 933 DJs.

Bukoh Mary and Tan Liyi. They are hosting some roadshow for Courts.

Strolled here and there.

Went to Music Junction.

It’s confirmed. I bought the last copy of the OST for Secret. People after me must be cursing and swearing.

As I was cycling today, I witnessed a scene.

That made me go OMG!

I don’t want to say where, in case tongues wag, and I don’t want to say what happened.

If you really want to know, ask me personally.

All I can say is that the police condoned off the area and there was a police tent covering the dead body.

I believe it was an accident. I feel sad for the deceased and his/her family.

I guess that’s fate.

I just hope that the deceased will find a better life in another world.

I recall one of the CISCO guards, Mdm Ang, said that she believes in fate. What’s yours will eventually be yours.

When it’s time to go, you’ll eventually go.

I, too, believe in fate.

But I really hope fate will help me in life. In the aspects of life that I really want.

I realised that life is really fragile. You don’t know when you or your loved ones will be gone.

Cherish the presence of your loved ones. And cherish yourself too.

Most importantly, live everyday happily.

I remember one of my NCC seniors, the legendary Eng Wee Hock, mentioned before that being happy everyday is the most important thing in life.

He said even if he walks along the streets happily and he just collapses and dies, he’ll have no regrets. Because he is leading a happy life.

I agree with that.

But I don’t think that’s the most important.

To me, it doesn’t matter whether you are happy everyday.

The most important thing to me in life is to make your loved ones happy.

Don’t you agree?

Protected: Everyday.
