Today marks my first day of work at Gleneagles Hospital, the place when I first stepped into this world.
It was via Jeremy I got this job.
Turns out to be a sai kang warrior.
I was practically folding bedsheets and cleaning those empty wards the whole day.
Seriously. Really boring job. I wonder if there’s something that at least makes me run around exploring the area.
Although the pay is at $7 per hour, which is quite a lot.
Oh well. Who ask me to be so broke?
I’ll just have to do it until something better comes along. At least for the time being.
At least the people there are friendly. But I seem to be the only Singaporean youngster around. The rest are from India, Sri Lanka and China.
And the China chaps are really interesting people. Reminds me of the 3 musketeers of the stewarding area back during the Baccarat days.
And some of them even thought I was from China since they usually hire foreigners for such jobs.
Many were surprised to learn that I’m 20 when they thought I was around 16 to 18. They looked at me stunned when they heard that I’ve finished NS.
But my job is sibeh sian. Let’s hope something more interesting comes up.
Edit @ 5.28pm, 11 March 2008:
Yes Kavin. It is as sian as yours. I’m practically draggimg muself to work everyday.
At least you get paid $8 per hour for doing nothing but I get paid $7 for doing sai kang.
But I think Jeremy is going to be very busy. Run all around the hospital.
