Yesterday was Lye Zhen’s 21st birthday.
The man himself generously treated all the friends he invited over a dinner in a posh cafe at Furama Hotel.
The time to meet was set at 6pm.
As usual, Best Bud Woo was late.
Since when he was not late? Even during the normal la kopi sessions we have, he can be late for up till 45 minutes. Even when the coffeeshop is just 5 minutes from his house.
But no matter how hard he tries, he can never be and will never be the world record holder of being late.
Anyway, he reached around 6.45pm.
Someone just needs to teach him a thing or two on punctuality.
Anyway, me, Jeremy and Kavin met at Jurong East MRT station platform.
Kavin is super on time. He is really a loyal friend. And we went off to head to Coffee Bean to quench our thirst and to wrap Lye Zhen’s birthday present.
And the wrapping paper? Kavin was told to buy it.
In the end, he found one small piece of wrapping paper at home and brought it.
By the time the paper reached Chinatown Point, it looked like kiam chai.
To hand the task of wrapping a present to 3 guys who are noobs in this field is totally a wrong idea.
These 3 guys stared at the wrapping paper and the present and looked at one another before Jeremy decided he wanted ice blended mocha.
And this China guy at the Chinatown Point Coffee Bean outlet.
The way he speaks English. I don’t understand sia.
Me:
Can I have 2 ice blended mocha?China guy:
Di you wan kim?Me:
Sorry. Come again?China guy:
Do you want kr-im?Me:
Sorry. I don’t get what you are saying.
It turns out that he was asking me if I wanted whipped cream in the ice blended mocha.
Piang eh.
He is a China guy. I can talk Chinese. Then talk Chinese lah. I’m not a jiak kan tang guy. I top the class when it comes to Chinese essay writing you know.
But for other aspects, I’m not that good.
Anyway, after the ice blended mocha came, the 3 guys continued to stare before Jeremy decided that we anyhow whack. Anyway, Lye Zhen won’t know that we anyhow whack.
I mean, who cares about the wrapping paper when the birthday present is the real thing?
And because of Jeremy’s innovation, somehow, he managed to create pattern on the way he wraps. But it is darn obvious that it was the work of a guy.
Surprisingly, it turns out well.
That’s why I always say.
STWC. We improvise. Anything. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyhow.
And finally, Best Bud Woo came. And we made our way to Furama Hotel.
And ever since Kavin and Hongjun reached that place, they never stopped eating.
Especially Kavin. He wanted to eat the whole cafe down.
It was a buffet dinner by the way.
The desserts were really good. The main course was so-so. But it is worth it by just eating the desserts only.
And the way Kavin eats the dessert. Those kind of small small jelly on a spoon-like mini container. The way he stuck the whole mini-container into his mouth, thinking that the container was a spoon.
We could die laughing.
And of course, we saw Mun Keong around. Lye Zhen’s best pal in JJC.
And this girl called Yixian. She turns out to be from Jurong Primary School too. And also in the same Primary 4 class with Luis and Best Bud Woo. If I’m not wrong, Alison is also in the same class with her from Primary 1 to Primary 3.
But I don’t remember seeing her before, despite her class being next to mine.
Anyway, according to the birthday boy, she was just a friend.
*coughs
I wasn’t the only one coughing. Everyone else did. Some even coughed louder than me.
Anyway, we concluded that Lye Zhen’s claim of him and the girl were just friends were simply nonsense. Darn obvious.
Now I can ask him this question. I asked this same question to Joe Wee 2 days ago.
Eh. When geting married?
Soon, we proceeded to Kbox for some sing song session.
The song 无辜 is a cannot-sing-song. This song made me 破音.
Seriously. I feel so sian.
Anyway, Elvis makes a lousy singer. Whatever you do, don’t be a singer.
But of course, Junda is more jia lat than you. The way he sings is like how a chicken is being slaughtered.
I really miss Zi Cheng around. At least we got a zai singer. Somehow, I feel irritated when Elvis anyhow sings. Corrupting the songs that should sound really nice.
But anyway, we were feeing so high, and at that time, Elvis was mad already under the influence of alcohol.
I understand. But I felt like pouring cold water on those who were mad.
And that includes Best Bud Woo, who hugged the microphone and sang despite the whole KTV system being shut down.
And shoes of all sorts of brands started flying towards him.
Poor Lye Zhen. Being the birthday boy, he was being forced to down several mugs of beers.
After that, he started going haywire.
His face was damn red. Even redder than the Spain national jersey you see in Euro 2008.
Soon, the effect of alcohol started to kick in.
He started become semi-conscious. And hanged a plastic bag on his ears. And expected the expected.
He hurled. All the crap that he has taken before came out.
Later on, his face was as white as the Fuhua Secondary School uniform.
Heng I didn’t drink. Because I don’t like beers. If it were Chivas, of course I’ll whack.
But if it were Chivas, not only Lye Zhen will be hurling. Desmond will be hurling as well.
For your information, Desmond currently holds the record of the longest distance hurled.
He hurled all the way from the National Library to Jurong East.
Actually, he already started hurling at the scene when we drank the Chivas. Means from Baccarat to National Library to Jurong East.
Hmm.
Let me quote this line. You should know which song this is.
啤酒伤身体。
I hope I don’t end up like Lye Zhen.
I don’t like beer. I’m guai. I don’t drink.
Perhaps you might want to make me hurl by making me drink lots of Pokka Green Tea.
But I think you’ll only make me want to pee a lot.
And someone send me pictures please.
Otherwise I can’t come up with an EP post for Lye Zhen.
Edit @ 12.24am, 30 June 2008:
Hmm. Seems like I’ve received 3 very negative comments.
So sorry about it. I’ll edit some parts of the post which I deem is neccessary.
Meanwhile, I guess it is time to change the way I blog. Since I have to change the way I blog, now I have to think about how I am going to go about doing it.
Thanks for the feedbacks. Negative or not.
I’ve regained freedom. No more work commitments.
Doesn’t mean I have lots of time to blog also. I’m going to cycle like there’s no tomorrow.
Can’t remember when was the last time I really cycled. Short trips to places like JP don’t count.
So I’ll be on my bicycle most of the time next month. Before school term starts and I’ll have no time for all these cycling trips.
As for now.
I want to watch the Euro 2008 final.
Edit @ 3.35am, 30 June 2008:
Hahaha.
I felt a bit cheeky at the time I was blogging.
But after that I felt a bit wrong lah.
A bit over already. Because usually the way I blog, not really that over.
Maybe too long never blog already, that’s why.
Of course, sometimes I get really off-form during blogging. Either end up exceeding the limits, or I can’t put my thoughts in my post.
And of course, everything is in words, sometimes can’t really tell the tone used properly.
Something that should sound funny end up sounding serious. Then end up some people misinterpret.
I should learn how to put smileys or emoticons in my posts. Seems like I seldom use them in my posts.
